Real Stories From The Chaotic Front

What Was I Thinking?

I came down with Strep Throat last week. It was awful. I didn’t want to go to the Dr. and was forced to by my mother. Really, she came over and made me go!! I can’t believe I wonder where my kids get their aversion to Dr’s from… I’m so glad I went though. The Z Pack I was prescribed could only have been invented by God himself. I was sick for two days before I went. During that time and for 36 hours after starting antibiotics I was contagious. Ian, my youngest, couldn’t understand the concept of contagious, and me…neither being of sound mind or body at the time (between sleeping and complaining….) didn’t think of simple conceptual terms like “sharing germs” etc so instead I told him that my kisses and my drinks could not be shared. They were “like poison.” Yes, I said like poison!! What was I thinking?????  Well Ian, who is always in my face and lap, became the first victim of my germ spree. He became infected with Strep next. He stayed home from school for a week while on heavy antibiotics. (Hayden also got sick.) Well, they went back to school today. The school nurse called at   p12603891 2 O’ Clock to inform me that though Ian was OK this morning, he  is once again running a fever. She also had a question about his illness. She said my phone call said Strep but Ian is telling everyone I poisoned him. ACK! I picked him up from school and headed straight to the pharmacy for more antibiotics and OF COURSE while there he asked the technician if that was the poison potion in the bag….   OH BOY!

Sorry I’ve Been Away

Sorry I’ve been neglecting my blog. It seems Christmas Break  has is totallychristmastreesad1751 overwhelming me.  There is something to be said about sending your children off to school everyday. My kids came down with a fever and sore throat combination a few days before school let out and it kept them out for three days! These were very crucial days as I was planning on using them to do the Christmas Shopping that I’ve been putting off. The only shopping I was able to accomplish proceeding the break included a list of sugar, chocolate chips, etc for the massive amounts of cookies to be made for a cookie exchange at work and provide deserts for a family party. Sooooo I’m back. Totally the worse for wear. This is my therapy ya know. I’ve missed you. I hope you’ve missed me too!
